Awards

Testimonial Resolution
A Testimonial Resolution can be requested from any Council Member for a person with a bio that includes a list of outstanding achievements or for an event or organization being honored for their contribution(s) to the City of Detroit. Submission of a bio that includes a list of achievements and any additional information you find pertinent to the person, event, or organization being honored is required.

Requests must be submitted ten (10) working days before date of expected delivery.

 
 
 Testimonial Memoriam Resolution
A Testimonial Memoriam Resolution can be requested from any Council Member for the person posthumously being honored to be presented to his/herfamily.
Submission of a bio or an obituary is required.
 
 Spirit of Detroit Award
A Spirit of Detroit Award can be requested from any Council Member for a person, event or organization being honored for an outstanding achievement or service to the citizens of Detroit. Submission of the name of the person, event, or organization and the reason for being honored is required.

Requests must be submitted five (5) working days before date of expected delivery.


 

Award of Recognition
An Award of Recognition can be requested from any Council Member for a person, event or organization being recognized for their many accomplishments. Submission of the name of the person, event, or organization and the reason for being honored is required.

Requests must be submitted five (5) working days before date of expected delivery.

 

Distinguished Service Award
A Distinguished Service Award can be requested from any Council Member for a person, event or organization being honored for community service, military service, or retirement. Submission of the name of the person, event, or organization and the reason for being honored is required.

Requests must be submitted five (5) working days before date of expected delivery.

 
 Spirit of Detroit Pin
A Spirit of Detroit Pin can be requested from any Council Member for a person as token of goodwill. Submission of the name of the person, event, or organization and the reason for being honored is required.

Requests must be submitted five (5) working days before date of expected delivery. 


Note: Any of the awards listed above should be requested from only one of the nine Council offices per event.
